Your trail follows behind

The ground behind you turns dangerous

As soon as you step on a solid block, the countdown begins: after two seconds it turns into magma. Two seconds later, it becomes lava. This only happens while the run is active.

Even when you jump, solid ground one or two blocks below you can turn into lava. Water, other fluids and waterlogged blocks stay unchanged. Moving on does not stop the blocks behind you from changing.

The trail advances only while the run is active. Water, other fluids and waterlogged blocks stay unchanged.

Example round: you cross a cave and see magma forming behind you. You look for the next safe ledge instead of turning back, because the old floor will soon become lava.

What to expect from your run

Experience
Good timing, careful jumps and awareness of your surroundings help.
Time commitment
The old route disappears as lava forms behind you, so you often need detours.

Tips for Floor is Lava

Keep moving and look for the next place where you can stand safely.

01Look for exits early
Check caves, bridges and small platforms for your next place to stand.
02Use water as a route
Water and waterlogged blocks do not become magma or lava and can offer a safer path.
03Plan around jumps
Jumping can still make the ground below you start changing. Do not count on your way back staying safe.
