Minecraft challenge
Damage Launch
A zombie hits you and sends you flying upwards, with a small push to the side. Avoid fighting right at the edge of a ravine.
- Java & Bedrock
- Private server
- No extra mods
Hits move you
Every hit can move the fight
When you take damage during the run, you are launched upwards and slightly to a random side. You still need to watch your landing: the launch does not make you invulnerable.
Fall damage normally does not trigger another launch. After a launch, 1.2 seconds must also pass before another hit can launch you again.
By default, you get an upward push and a small random push to the side. Each player has 1.2 seconds between triggers.
Example round: a zombie hits you beside a ravine. You are pushed up and sideways, land somewhere new and look for solid ground before fighting again.

What to expect from your run
- Rule complexity
- Damage can launch you into the air. Leave enough landing space around your fighting area.
- Experience
- Watching distance, cover and changes in height helps.
- Time commitment
- After a push, you need to find your bearings and often get back to the route.
Before the hit
Tips for Damage Launch
Before a fight, check where you could land after a launch.
- 01Do not fight beside drops
- Avoid starting fights beside cliffs or lava unless you have a safe place to land.
- 02Prepare a landing spot
- Keep blocks or a safe route back ready so you can recover after the push.
- 03Plan around the cooldown
- After a push, another hit triggers movement again only after the default 1.2-second cooldown.
