Minecraft challenge

Advancement = Damage

You earn a new Minecraft advancement and lose a heart in the process. By default, this applies to advancements announced in chat.

Set up your run
  • Java & Bedrock
  • Private server
  • No extra mods

Progress has a price

Heal before earning advancements

While the run is active, every announced advancement costs one heart by default. The chat message shows you when the rule applies.

Unlocking a recipe does not count because Minecraft does not show that kind of chat announcement for it.

By default, only advancements with a chat announcement count. Recipe unlocks and other silent advancements do not deal damage.

Example round: you are about to enter the Nether for the first time, but only have one heart left. You eat and heal before stepping through the portal, so the new advancement does not take your last heart.
