Minecraft challenge

No Crafting

The crafting table is almost off-limits: by default, only blaze powder and eyes of ender remain craftable. Find or fight for everything else.

Find your gear in the world

You can craft almost nothing, either in your inventory or at a crafting table. An automated crafter cannot get around the rule. By default, only blaze powder and eyes of ender are allowed.

The two exceptions help with the usual route to the Ender Dragon. For everything else, search structures, mobs and other places in the world.

The two default exceptions keep the usual route to the Ender Dragon open. Other results are restricted.

Example round: you arrange planks for another crafting table, but the result is blocked. Blaze powder is allowed, and you can later use it for an eye of ender. Other equipment must be found or looted.

Experience
Knowing structures, mob drops and places to search replaces many recipes.
Time commitment
Finding finished items can mean detours. Search for key equipment early in chests and from mobs.

Tips for No Crafting

Every item you cannot craft needs another place to find it.

01Search structures for equipment
Explore villages, ships, ruins and other structures for finished items.
02Collect mob drops deliberately
Find out early which mob drops a needed item, then prepare a safe fight.
03Save eyes of ender and blaze powder
The allowed items matter on the route to the End. Do not spend them casually.
04Check the allowed recipes
The run settings can allow different recipes. Check what you are allowed to craft before starting.
